The Yellow Army
Class Structure
Each session is carefully designed to create a calm and controlled learning environment:
- Small class sizes to ensure individual attention and reduced stress for every dog
- Managed setups with safe distances between dogs to prevent overwhelm and allow successful learning
- Step-by-step progression, starting with foundational skills like focus, calmness, and handler engagement
- Gradual introduction of real-life triggers (such as other dogs, people, or movement) at a level your dog can cope with
- Practical exercises including lead handling, disengagement, recall, and relaxation techniques
- Ongoing guidance so you can confidently continue training outside of class
What is The Yellow Army?
The Yellow Army is a supportive community and resource hub dedicated to helping dogs with anxiety and their owners navigate the world more confidently.
Built around the understanding that not all dogs are comfortable with close interactions, The Yellow Army promotes awareness, education, and practical support for dogs who may be anxious, nervous, or reactive.
A key part of this movement is the use of yellow leads, harnesses, and accessories—a simple, visible signal that a dog may need space. This helps others recognise when to give distance, reducing pressure on the dog and creating safer, more positive experiences for everyone.
